Time to Say.....

Hello, everyone :)
After this semester, most of us are going back their countries...I feel so sad.
I stay here and take next semester, but I have to go back Japan after that.
Now, I really don't want to go back.. haha  I like Calgary and my friends so much.
I have to study harder because I want to get a job with using English in the future.  Now I have no idea about the job exactly, but I'm interested in living abroad.
Also, I've always dreamed to meet my friends again in their countries.

Living in Canada

I came to Canada about seven months ago.  To study abroad was my challenge because it was my first time to go abroad.  Canada and my home country, Japan are totally different, that's why I had been so excited for the first few months.  It was hard to acquire the Canadian lifestyle and culture, but these days, I'm used to the life in here, that's why I can think about the differences between Canada and Japan objectively.  The biggest difference is that Canada is mixed racial country.  If we see a person who looks non-japanese in Japan, we think he is not Japanese, and he is just a visitor.  Anyway, I really like Canada ( Of course Japan too)!  I can't believe I'm going to go back Japan...

A Thing for Success

We have different goals and dreams, but  I believe all of us needs efforts to reach our goals.  You must know this phrase, "no effort, no result."  We can't go to our goal without efforts.  Even if we meet obstacles, we have to keep doing efforts.  Don't give up!  When we overcome the obstacles, we must be near our goals.  Then, we can get many factors for success, for example, confidence, motivation.  The effort does not betray the person who made it.

Success

     Success is happiness for me.  We tend to think that being happy is equal to being rich.  However, we can't have happiness through money.  Even if we spend a lot of money, we can never buy happy feelings.  Happiness is not to get wealth but to feel satisfied with ourselves.  If we can feel that we're happy whenever we think about our life, we can say it's success.  That is because we can't compare our success with others'.  That's why you've already succeeded if you can say with confidence that you are satisfied with yourself now.

Vocabulary Developemant

Hello! How are you?
Everyone knows that to expand vocabulary is essential to study English, but it's so difficult. So, I want to tell you how I memorize new words.
First, I listen to music and read the lyrics. Then,even if I don't know what some words mean, I try to translate that. After that, I search the meaning of the words. And, I really like to sing a song. So, I sing the song many times. If I can go to karaoke, it's perfect!!!!! I believe that this way is very efficient because we can know the pronunciation. Maybe we can't gain many words in a short time by this way. However, if we try to memorize a lot of words at once, we must forget them soon.
Next, when I watch dramas, I get a lot of words which I don't know. So, I always search the meaning. I prefer asking my host family to using a dictionary. I watch them with English subtitles, but if I have time, I try to watch them without the subtitles after watching with it. In other words, I sometimes watch the same dramas twice.

I'm Lika and from Osaka, Japan.I came to Calgary about 5 months ago and I'm going to stay here for more 6 months. In japan, I'm a university student and my major is literature. BUT!!!!!!!!!! I'm never good at reading and writing. haha That is because I'm going to start studing English literature next year. Studying abroad was my dream when I was a child. So, I made my dream come true!!! My hobby is listening to music. Do you remember that I was absent from classes last week? That is because I went to the concert of my favorite rock band!
